Individual Therapy provides the opportunity to have regular sessions with a therapist one-on-one, in a safe and confidential environment.   Within the privacy of a therapeutic session, clients can be supported to discuss challenging, complex and often painful issues.  Some people want to focus on a current difficulty that they are struggling to resolve and, therefore, may only want a few sessions to support them through a difficult time.  Others may have identified reoccurring problems that may be self-sabotaging and they may want to see their therapist for longer so they can address more deep-rooted issues.

Whatever issues bring you to therapy, working with a therapist that you trust in a non-judgmental, supportive and confidential environment can a transformative experience.

Some examples of how therapy might help you include:

  • Understanding what might have caused the difficulty and what is keeping it going
  • Exploring difficulties or reoccurring problems in close relationships
  • Clarifying what is important to you and what gives your life meaning
  • Considering issues relating to self-acceptance and kindness towards ourselves
  • Managing difficult thoughts or feelings more effectively
  • Letting go of trying to control what is outside our sphere of influence

I am an integrative therapist, which means that I blend approaches and techniques depending on the individual I am working with.  The therapies I work with are well-established and evidence based so you can be sure that you will be looked after safely and ethically.  I will work collaboratively with you to understand the difficulties you face and to decide the best course of treatment.  Furthermore, we will have regular reviews of our work together.

This list is not exhaustive and if you are looking for something that is not included, please contact me to see if I can help.  If I am not able to support you, I will do my best to suggest appropriate alternative sources of support.
